Arcadia

Welcome to Arcadia

Grand and lush with room to grow

In Arcadia, everything is done on a grand scale. Arcadia is mainly a suburb of Phoenix but with a portion in Scottsdale also. Want greenery? There’s plenty in Arcadia due to the unique irrigation system of the Arizona Canal, which runs right through it. How about large homes and plenty of room to stretch? Yes, they’ve got that with many early-to-mid-20th century historic ranch-style homes on large lots of at least a few acres—all well-kept, of course, with manicured landscapes. How about roots? Mature and bounteous citrus groves flourish here, planted by farmers with foresight in the early 1900s.

The backdrop is Camelback Mountain and Piestewa Peak, both part of the Phoenix Mountains. Some of the most beautiful sunsets in the country can be found right here over these mountains, and residents get to see them almost every day of the year. With the canal on one side and the mountains on the other, a magical thing happens — peace and quiet. There’s an insulated feel to the neighborhood, a buffer if you will. This makes for a unique, lush, green, quiet, coveted oasis, the likes of which you won’t see elsewhere in a desert climate. The housing includes historic ranches from the early 1900s, luxury mansions and estates, modern single-family homes, sweet townhouses, and swanky condominiums.

What to Love

  • Year-round beautifully warm weather
  • Very walkable streets with lush, manicured lawns
  • Close to everything, all at your fingertips
  • Fine-dining restaurants, delis, cafés, and lounges
  • Many hiking trails with gorgeous landscapes and desert vistas
  • The world-famous Camelback Mountain Preserve

Local Lifestyle

This is the quintessential upscale neighborhood, and residents have the best of both worlds. There’s the uber-suburban atmosphere with greenery, peace, lushness, and quiet. There’s also a quick trip into downtown Phoenix or Scottsdale when they crave more hustle and bustle and luxury city shopping. Again, the key to this paradise is the buffer zone between the canal and mountains. Many people live here just for the biking and walking paths along the canal, which are like a river walk, with restaurants and breweries peppering the waterfront.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Fashionistas will love Scottsdale Fashion Square for the latest in designer clothing, shoes, accessories, and jewelry. Satisfy your urge for great American pub food and cocktails at The Henry, and make sure you try the blackened Mahi tacos. For that perfect date night with great seafood and steaks, head to Ocean 44 for elegant, intimate fine dining. Enjoy the ultimate luxury that nurtures the spirit and indulges the body at The Phoenician Spa, and emerge wholly renewed and transformed.

Things to Do

Living in a relaxed and insulated enclave allows relationships to blossom. Bike riding on the many trails, enjoying long strolls on tree-lined streets, and dog walking are regular parts of life. The large and generous front porches on many of the homes invite conversation. There are plenty of neighborhood get-togethers, such as the Arcadia BBQ Picnic, the Arcadia Auto-Rama, and neighborhood meetings to plan events and make new friends.

For the best Halloweening in Phoenix, you’ll find haunted houses, hayrides, pumpkin festivals, Day of the Dead celebrations, trick or treat, and more throughout the neighborhood and surrounding Scottsdale and Phoenix areas. The Halloween Festival hosted by the Mountain View Police Precinct offers spooky-themed games, an obstacle course, trick or treating, and pumpkin decorating.
